Basketball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fennimore Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Chieftains have suffered since November 27, 2023.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Fennimore, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.

While Riverdale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
