Softball Recap: Pembroke Comes Up Short

Softball Recap: Pembroke Spartans vs. Laconia Sachems
Pembroke had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it six. They came up short against the Laconia Sachems, falling 15-7. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Sachems from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
As for Laconia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games.
For Laconia's part, Kaydence Stinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Stinson has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Laconia got a massive performance out of Gracie Lewis, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Lewis a new career-high. Kendall Myers was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one run.
Coming up, Pembroke will be playing at home against Non Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Laconia, they will venture away from home to face off against ConVal at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
