Basketball Recap: Stigler Comes Up Short

Stigler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Talihina Golden Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-37 back in December of 2024.

Talihina's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Lloyd, who posted 15 points and three blocks. That's the most points Lloyd has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Cy Ammons, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points.

Stigler's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Talihina, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Stigler and Hartshorne will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Talihina, they will be taking part in a tournament against Bokoshe at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
