Baseball Game Preview: Southwest EC Eagles vs. Central Spartans

For the second straight game, Southwest EC will face off against Central. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest EC is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Southwest EC took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Central.

Cole Redden made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Aguilera, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brock London, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Southwest EC pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Central, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.
