Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newberry). They were the clear victors by a 22-1 margin over the Keenan Raiders on Friday. The Bulldogs have beaten the Raiders the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Raiders has come to flipping the script.

Sydney West was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaydee Rivers, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Courtney Scurry, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.

Newberry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
