Football Recap: Northgate Starts Season with Win on the Road

Northgate had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 14-7 win over the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks on Saturday. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 44-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Timo Ural and Cole Kramlich certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Ural picked up 93 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Kramlich picked up 70 receiving yards. Ural also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending one pass.

Northgate and Tamalpais could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Broncos will face off against Campolindo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (310 vs. 110). Meanwhile, Tamalpais (ranked 343rd) will meet St. Ignatius College Preparatory (ranked 88th) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
