Baseball Recap: Greenwood Comes Up Short

Greenwood might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Mooresville who claimed the real prize. The Woodmen fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 5-3. The Woodmen have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Greenwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mavrick Pauley, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Joey Ortman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Mooresville, they moved to 9-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pioneers beat Greenwood by a score of 10-2 on Wednesday.
