Preview: Wade Hampton Generals vs. Eastside Eagles
Wade Hampton is 9-1 against Eastside since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wade Hampton Generals will look to defend their home court against the Eastside Eagles at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Wade Hampton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
Last Friday, Wade Hampton faced Riverside in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wade Hampton fell just short of Riverside by a score of 70-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (57), Wade Hampton still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, even though Laurens scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Eastside still came out on top. Eastside took their contest against Laurens 63-55.
Eastside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ginny Anne Dumont out in front who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Dumont also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Kaylan Hickman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Wade Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Eastside, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Wade Hampton strolled past Eastside when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 63-46. Will Wade Hampton repeat their success, or does Eastside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
