Basketball Recap: Kankakee Valley Drops Season-High Score on Benton Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kankakee Valley). They came out on top against the Benton Central Bison by a score of 69-57 on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Kougars considering their 23-point performance the match before.

Kankakee Valley found their leader in freshman Camry Krueger, who went 8 for 17 on her way to 25 points and four steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for Krueger. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Walker, who posted 12 points.

Kankakee Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Kankakee Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Benton Central, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Kankakee Valley and Westville will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Benton Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-23 win against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on the 26th.
