Baseball Recap: Christian Home Educators Fellowship Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Centreville Academy, Christian Home Educators Fellowship was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Pontchartrain Christian HomeSchool Paladins by a score of 7-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Luke Babin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Christian Home Educators Fellowship's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaron Taylor, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hudson Champlin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Christian Home Educators Fellowship's win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Christian Home Educators Fellowship will head out to take on John Paul the Great Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Home Educators Fellowship is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season. As for Pontchartrain Christian HomeSchool, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Christian Home Educators Fellowship at 6:00 p.m. on March 27th.
