Softball Recap: Classical Takes a Loss

Classical dropped their record down to 9-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 16-4 to the Davies Career & Tech Patriots. If the Purple were looking for revenge after losing 33-10 to the Patriots when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Davies Career & Tech, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Davies Career & Tech's side, they let Madison Blanchette and Darelyn Maldonado run wild. Blanchette went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple, while Maldonado went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gisele Roy, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Classical will challenge Paul Cuffee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Davies Career & Tech, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-1 win against North Providence on the 16th.
