Volleyball Recap: Minster Wildcats vs. Marion Local Flyers
If Minster was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of New Knoxville on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Marion Local Flyers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Flyers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
While Minster was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-15, 25-22.
Alyse Lamm paced Minster's offense, picking up six kills. Lamm got some help from Jordyn Stueve and her eight assists. Stueve was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Marion Local found their leader in sophomore Emersyn Mescher, who had 14 assists. Mescher is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Minster's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Marion Local, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
Minster and Marion Local could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Wildcats will square off against Coldwater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (173 vs. 13). Meanwhile, Marion Local (ranked 137th) will meet Versailles (ranked 34th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
