Volleyball Game Preview: Carroll Chargers vs. Angola Hornets

The Carroll Chargers will venture away from home to square off against the Angola Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carroll will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

If Leo wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Carroll, they should've done a better job of containing Cala Haffner. The Chargers blew past the Lions 3-0 on Monday for which the team can thank Haffner, who had 17 digs and one assist. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 11 times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Carroll was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-14, 25-13.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Angola, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Eastside on Monday.

Angola never let Eastside on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-10, 26-24.

Angola's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 28-0.

Carroll took their win against Angola in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
