Poly has gone 9-1 against Arlington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bears will take on the Lions at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Poly has eight straight wins, Arlington has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Poly barely beat Liberty the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 13-7 victory on Wednesday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Marley Audoma spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 22 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Violet Espin was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Isabella Magallon was another key player, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Poly lost a few balls and finished the game with seven home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Valley View hit Arlington with a six-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions lost 11-4 to the Eagles.
Aubree Anderson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Poly's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Arlington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Poly has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Arlington, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Poly's sizable advantage in that area, the Lions will need to find a way to close that gap.
Poly got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April against Arlington by a conclusive 14-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
