Football Recap: Danville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cardington-Lincoln last Friday, Danville came back down to earth. The Blue Devils were outmatched by the Centerburg Trojans and fell 44-14. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Trojans are ranked 181st).

Despite the loss, Danville still got an impressive performance from Cyren Wallace, who rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Wallace's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Danville's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Centerburg, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Danville will take on Fredericktown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Freddies will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Centerburg, they will face off against East Knox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
