Basketball Recap: Benjamin Takes a Loss

Benjamin saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 55-44 to the Bangs Dragons.

Despite the loss, Benjamin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Keegan Hayes dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Hayes' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Tallon Hayes was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

Bangs found their leader in sophomore Ryan Alqorum, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 19 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braxton Wommack, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Benjamin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bangs, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Anson the next time they take the court. Benjamin will head out to face Anson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Bangs will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
