Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ryleigh Gage and Esme Deloya Lead Fort Osage to Victory

Fort Osage won the last time they faced Raytown and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Indians blew past the Bluejays 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Fort Osage's got stronger as the match went on, holding Raytown to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-8.

Leading Fort Osage to victory were Esme Deloya and Ryleigh Gage. Deloya had nine digs and two aces, while Gage had nine digs and three aces. Gage has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 12 times she's played. Ayden Vaeao also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Fort Osage was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.

Fort Osage's win bumped their record up to 14-8-1. As for Raytown, they now have a losing record of 7-8-2.

Fort Osage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Chrisman on the 2nd. As for Raytown, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Grain Valley on the 2nd.
