Baseball Recap: Lockwood Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Lockwood duked it out with Diamond on Wednesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Landry Ogden put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Roper Gray made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Lockwood has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Diamond, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lockwood will challenge Ash Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Diamond, they will venture away from home to take on Skyline at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
