Basketball Recap: Eastside Falls Despite Big Games from Walt Predmore and Carter Driscoll

Eastside was the 47-45 winner over Riverside when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eastside Eagles fell 38-30 to the Riverside Warriors on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Warriors are ranked 18th).

Eastside's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carter Driscoll, who posted eight points, and Walt Predmore, who earned nine points. The dominant performance also gave Driscoll a new career-high in boards (three).

Eastside's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Riverside, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Eastside will square off against Wade Hampton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastside is facing Wade Hampton at the right time seeing as Wade Hampton is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Riverside, they will venture away from home to take on Boiling Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Boiling Springs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Riverside surely won't give up without a fight.
