Volleyball Recap: Coon Rapids Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Coon Rapids unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hopkins Royals by a score of 3-2.

Coon Rapids actually scored more points across those five sets (104-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-13.

Griffin Garbow paced Coon Rapids' offense, picking up 26 kills. Garbow got some help from Lucas Yang and his 37 assists. Yang was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Coon Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Hopkins, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Coon Rapids will head out on the road to square off against Robbinsdale Armstrong at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Hopkins does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
