Baseball Game Preview: Cabot Panthers vs. Greenbrier Panthers

Cabot will take on Greenbrier at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Greenbrier took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cabot, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Cabot duked it out with Central on Thursday. The Panthers walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Jacob Murray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

Cabot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only posted a batting average of .130.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier faced Maumelle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 4-1 to the Hornets. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Greenbrier and nudges their season record down to 16-9. As for Cabot, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

Cabot couldn't quite finish off Greenbrier when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can Cabot avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
