Baseball Recap: Foard Comes Up Short

Foard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Newton-Conover Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 back in February.

Foard saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Setzer, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Foard's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Newton-Conover, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Foard wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-8 victory against Bunker Hill on the 22nd. As for Newton-Conover, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 defeat against Hickory on the 22nd.
