Football Recap: Western Hills Starts Season with Win at Home + How To Watch

Western Hills gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They took down the North Side Steers 27-9. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 35-20 loss the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Western Hills' victory came down to the chemistry between Tyler Johnston and his top target Rodney Hill. Johnston threw for 102 yards and one touchdown while Hill gained 91 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Hill racked up 41 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Western Hills' defense made their presence known, laying out Isaiah Taylor. four times. Alexander Richmond was especially locked on to North Side's QB and sacked him twice.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Hills is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Krum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Side, they will head out to face off against Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
