You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Monument Valley's strategy against Monticello on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Monument Valley Cougars blew the Monticello Buckaroo out of the water with a 68-20 final score. With the Cougars ahead 34-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Monument Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dakotah Cly out in front who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Malaya Blackmountain, who had 15 points.

Monticello's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Maron Freestone, who put up ten points along with six boards and three steals, and Makenna Peterson, who scored no points. Freestone has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. LE Olson also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Monument Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points over those games. As for Monticello, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Monument Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monticello, they have already played their next contest, a 35-27 victory against Pinnacle on the 13th.
