Softball Recap: Rocky River Pirates vs. Columbia Raiders

Rocky River had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged the Columbia Raiders out 6-5.

Reagan Kane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Juliana Benjamin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sienna DeMooy, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Rocky River's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-13. As for Columbia, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Rocky River will stay at home for another game and welcome Buckeye at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buckeye will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Rocky River surely won't give up without a fight. Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
