Basketball Recap: Windsor Comes Up Short

Windsor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 65-49 fall against the Southampton Indians. While losing is never fun, the Dukes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while the Indians are ranked 208th).

Southampton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrell Beverly, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Israel Key, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Windsor's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Southampton, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Windsor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-46 victory against Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech on the 5th. As for Southampton, they have also already played their next contest, a 52-43 loss against Brunswick on the 5th.
