The biggest upset of the week belonged to Salem Academy, who took down 125th ranked Harrisburg, 27-24. Jordan Smith ran for 155 yards in the win.
Scio extended the longest winning streak in 3A PacWest this week by beating Santiam Christian, 24-21. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Loggers.
The Crusaders' dynamic duo of Carlin Ables and Jake Hall proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ables threw for 160 yards and one touchdown and Hall had 98 yards receiving. Nathan Schmidt helped Salem Academy's passing attack out by catching three balls for 54 yards.
Gabe Keudell made the biggest impact on defense this week as Salem Academy defeated Harrisburg. The 5-foot-10 sophomore recorded one fumble.
Daniel Harper was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 189 yards as Scio topped David Younger's team. Nathan Jones also contributed to the rushing game with 80 yards on the ground.
The Crusaders' Ables and Hall have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ables has thrown for 767 yards this season, while Hall, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 15 catches for 376 yards. Harper from Jim Mask's team leads the league in rushing with 1261 yards.
A big matchup in 3A PacWest this week will be when the Eagles take on Pleasant Hill. Santiam Christian is currently in third, while the Billies are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when Salem Academy and the Loggers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Crusaders comes in having scored 184 this season, while Scio has scored 289. Salem Academy scored 27 points last week as it bested the Eagles.
Pleasant Hill led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Toledo.
