Softball Game Preview: Van Buren Bulldogs vs. Alton Comets

The Van Buren Bulldogs will take on the Alton Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Van Buren will be strutting in after a win while Alton will be coming in after a loss.

Van Buren barely beat Bakersfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 12-2 victory on Tuesday. The game marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Alton came up short against Gainesville on Thursday and fell 8-4.

Alton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Van Buren, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Van Buren took their victory against Alton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
