Baseball Recap: Venus Comes Up Short

Venus lost against Hillsboro back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Venus Bulldogs came up short against the Hillsboro Eagles, falling 19-11. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cayden Lucas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Koby Henrich also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Venus now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Hillsboro, their record is now 5-9.

While Venus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
