Baseball Game Preview: Gulfport Admirals vs. Biloxi Indians

Gulfport and Biloxi are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. Gulfport will host Biloxi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gulfport has seven straight wins, Biloxi has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Gulfport's victory against D'Iberville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Gulfport sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over D'Iberville on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Admirals have posted against the Warriors since March 24, 2023.

Carter Carriere and Thomas Stennis dominated on the mound. Carriere struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits, while Stennis struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Stennis a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Biloxi came up short against Ocean Springs on Saturday and fell 5-1.

Biloxi saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Dalferes, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Gulfport's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Biloxi, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Gulfport was able to grind out a solid win over Biloxi in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 10-7. Will Gulfport repeat their success, or does Biloxi has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
