            Softball Preview: Overton Bobcats vs. Cane Ridge Ravens        
        
		
        
        
            Overton has won four straight games at home, while Cane Ridge has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much  on Tuesday. The Bobcats will welcome the Ravens  at 5:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Overton barely beat McGavock the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats were the clear victors by  a  16-4 margin over the Raiders on Monday. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  win against them.
 Kaliyha Finley-Gray was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and two  doubles.

 In other batting news,  Jailyn Norman was a standout: she fired off two  home runs, four  runs,  and four  RBI while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. Those  two  home runs gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ella Meacham, who  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Overton  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in five consecutive  matches.
 For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cane Ridge and Antioch meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again  on Monday. The Ravens put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp  14-5 victory.
 Cane Ridge has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Overton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
 Overton took their  win against Cane Ridge  when the teams last played  back in March by a conclusive  16-0 score. Do  the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ravens turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
