Basketball Game Preview: Parrish Community Bulls vs. Manatee Hurricanes

The Parrish Community Bulls will challenge the Manatee Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Parrish Community saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a blow against Buford, falling 70-31. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 337th in Florida, while the Wolves are ranked 49th in Georgia).

Meanwhile, Manatee hadn't done well against Riverview Sarasota recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Manatee secured a 61-56 W over Riverview Sarasota. That's two games straight that the Hurricanes have won by exactly five points.

Parrish Community better keep an eye on Keith Fields. He was instrumental in Manatee's win, going 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The match was Fields' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Detmer Steffensen, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Manatee's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6. As for Parrish Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Parrish Community came up short against Manatee when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 81-70. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fields, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Now that Parrish Community knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
