Basketball Recap: Hazel Green Takes a Loss

Hazel Green saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meadowcreek Mustangs.

Meadowcreek had a senior duo take command as Jayden Beckham posted 15 points in addition to six boards and four steals and Sean Alicea shot 42% from the field en route to 17 points. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Beckham. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamari Brown, who put up five points and three steals.

Hazel Green's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Meadowcreek, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Looking ahead, Hazel Green will square off against Columbus at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Meadowcreek, they have already played their next contest, a 67-65 win against Mae Jemison on the 25th.
