The Jordan Red Jackets will head out on the road to face off against the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jordan is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Jordan pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbus. While losing is never fun, Jordan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Columbus is ranked 163rd).
Meanwhile, Academy for Classical Education took a serious blow against Northeast on Tuesday, falling 76-45. Academy for Classical Education has struggled against Northeast recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Academy for Classical Education saw an underclassman step up: Jaylon Davis scored 14 points along with four steals. Bryson Vincent was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Jordan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Academy for Classical Education, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Jordan beat Academy for Classical Education 83-76 in their previous meeting back in January. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Academy for Classical Education's Fernando Washington , who scored 27 points.
