Volleyball Recap: Danville Falls to Central Christian in First Game of Season

Danville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Central Christian Comets on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-14.

Erin Crider paced Danville's offense, picking up nine kills. Crider got some help from Kenzi Staats and her 13 assists. Staats was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Danville will venture away from home to take on Fredericktown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Blue Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Central Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Rittman on the 18th.
