Football Recap: Mansfield Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Mansfield duked it out with Mansfield Summit on Friday. The Tigers lost 34-14 to the Jaguars. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Although Mansfield took the loss, they still got scores from Brady Burch and Alex Luke.

Leading Mansfield Summit to victory were Adarion Nettles and Ian Gebhardt. Nettles rushed for 288 yards and one TD while picking up 16.9 yards per carry, while Gebhardt rushed for 147 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Those 288 rushing yards gave Nettles a new career-high.

Mansfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mansfield Summit, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mansfield is headed away from home for the first time to take on Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mansfield Summit, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Burleson at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
