Recap: Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles vs. Hebron Christian Lions
The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles entered their tilt with the Hebron Christian Lions with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. Gray Collegiate Academy strolled past Hebron Christian with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 72-58. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Gray Collegiate Academy considering their 15-point performance the match before.
It was another big night for Treyvon Maddox, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Pauling, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Gray Collegiate Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Hebron Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-2.
Gray Collegiate Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Columbia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Gray Collegiate Academy is ranked sixth). As for Hebron Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hart County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hart County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Hebron Christian likes a good challenge.
