Baseball Recap: Lone Tree Comes Up Short

Lone Tree was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in June.

Lone Tree's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Winfield-Mt. Union, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.

Looking ahead, Lone Tree will welcome North Cedar at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Winfield-Mt. Union has already played their next contest (against Pekin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
