Football Game Preview: Oakfield vs. Gibraltar

Gibraltar will challenge Oakfield on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close game.

After a dominant victory in their contest two weeks ago, Gibraltar were humbled last Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 34-68 walloping at Newman's hands. Senior Trevor Reinhardt and sophomore Alex Laughlin were two go-getters for Gibraltar despite the loss. The former passed for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns, while the latter caught passes for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with 11 tackles Laughlin was a force on both sides of the ball.

The last time they met, Oakfield were the 51-0 winner over Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah. This time around? They had no such luck. Oakfield took a hard 24-42 fall against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah. Oakfield's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. These are two of the top teams in the state, so whatever the outcome when they meet, this is not one you'll want to miss.
