Recap: Midway Green Wave vs. Rockwood Tigers
There's no place like home for the Midway Green Wave, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockwood on Friday and snuck past 41-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Midway has posted since December 5, 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Rockwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ty'varion Pryor. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with two steals. That was a full 55.3% of Rockwood's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Reed, who scored six points.
Midway pushed their record up to 9-15 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Rockwood, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.
Midway will be playing at home against Rockwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rockwood, they will head out on the road to take on Midway at 7:30 p.m.
