Softball Game Preview: Griswold Wolverines vs. Plainfield Panthers

The Griswold Wolverines will take on the Plainfield Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Griswold will be strutting in after a win while Plainfield will be coming in after a loss.

Griswold took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Woodstock Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolverines skirted past the Centaurs 7-6.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield duked it out with Wheeler on Saturday. The Panthers fell 9-4 to the Lions. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Griswold has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Plainfield, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Griswold beat Plainfield 9-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
