Football Recap: Farmington River Hawks vs. Northwest Catholic Lions
Farmington lost against Northwest Catholic back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The River Hawks lost 31-6 to the Lions. The River Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-0.
Mason Kiniry threw for 143 yards and one TD. Terrence Broxton was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards.
Vincent Burbank had an outrageously good game for Northwest Catholic as he threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 52 yards and one score on only seven carries. Kayden Davis was Burbank's top target, picking up 115 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
This is the second loss in a row for Farmington and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Northwest Catholic, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Coming up, Farmington will venture away from home to take on Edwin O. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the River Hawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Northwest Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Joel Barlow at 11:00 a.m.
