Basketball Recap: Port St. Joe Piles Up the Points Against Bozeman

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blountstown, Port St. Joe was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed by the Bozeman Bucks to the tune of 44-16. For the Tiger Sharks, this counts as revenge for the 35-20 victory the Bucks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Port St. Joe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addy Silcox out in front who posted 13 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. Silcox is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Jayla Hill was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Port St. Joe's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Bozeman, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Port St. Joe and Bozeman are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Port St. Joe will take on Aucilla Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bozeman, they are taking a road trip to square off against South Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Walton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Bozeman surely won't give up without a fight.
