Softball Recap: St. Bede Comes Up Short

St. Bede fell victim to Carterville and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Bruins were not able to get on the board.

St. Bede's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Carterville, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

St. Bede and Carterville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Bruins (ranked 135th) will meet Zeigler-Royalton (ranked 309th) at 4:29 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Carterville will challenge Herrin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (6 vs. 197).
