Softball Recap: Frankfort Takes a Loss

Frankfort came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 18-6 to the Boone County Rebels.

Frankfort saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sadie Dungan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Kendall Cook was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Frankfort has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Boone County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankfort will face off against Berea at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Boone County, they will challenge Ryle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
