Basketball Game Preview: Corbett Cardinals vs. Riverdale Mavericks

Corbett hasn't had much luck against Riverdale recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Corbett Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Riverdale Mavericks at 7:30 p.m.

Corbett lost 76-54 to Neah-Kah-Nie on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Pirates are ranked 55th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Riverdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 62-37 margin over Rainier on Friday. The Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season.

With the victory, Riverdale broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-7. As for Corbett, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Corbett came up short against Riverdale in their previous matchup on January 8th, falling 64-53. Can Corbett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
