Football Game Preview: Allen East Mustangs vs. Jefferson Wildcats

The Allen East Mustangs will face off against the Jefferson Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Allen East will be strutting in after a win while Jefferson will be coming in after a defeat.

Allen East lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Spencerville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Mustangs blew past the Bearcats 56-6 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 41-7 defeat at the hands of Lima Central Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 95th).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Allen East, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Allen East against Jefferson in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
