Football Recap: Sutherland Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Sutherland's offense. They were outmatched by the Bridgeport Bulldogs and fell 59-0. The loss continues a trend for the Sailors in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Henry Blanco went supernova For Bridgeport., rushing for 117 yards and four scores on only 14 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Blanco a new career-high. Nikolas Weibert was another key player, rushing for 72 yards on only five carries.

Sutherland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Bridgeport, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Sutherland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bridgeport, they will face off against Clarkson/Leigh at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
