It was a proper cat-fight when Farmington faced off against Lakeville North on Friday. The Tigers never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Not much got past Kayla Schweich, who gave up just a hit to keep Lakeville North off the board.
On the hitting side, Kayley Schuenemann was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Madison Westover was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Farmington's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lakeville North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Coming up, Farmington will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Rosemount at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeville North, they will head out on the road to square off against Prior Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lakers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
