Baseball Recap: Hayden Kearney Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mclouth

Valley Falls's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the McLouth Bulldogs a 15-0 shutout. Fans of the Dragons have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Collin Kearney made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Valley Falls got a massive performance out of Hayden Kearney, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Kearney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Meyer, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Valley Falls hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Valley Falls' record now sits at 3-0. As for McLouth, they now have a losing record of 1-2-1.
